Welcome 2008!

We welcomed in the New Year with some good friends and lots of food and drink. We played some cards and just visited.
The kids were really hoping for snow over their break, so we decided to rent a house up in Leavenworth for a few days where there is an abundance of snow. Christopher's parents came with us and it was truly a winter wonderland. It totally reminded me of some winters past with all the snow. The house was cozy with a wood stove and plenty of room for us to spread out. There was so much snow on the roof that the first night we were there, the gigantic icicles hanging over the side came crashing in, breaking the double paned window and interupting my cozy night of reading! Christopher fixed it up with some duct tape and broken down Safeway boxes and we were good to go.

The kids loved the snow. They put on their snow gear right when we got there and played in the back yard for awhile. We sled the next day downtown. It was a perfect little hill for us and the gazebo with a heater was nice, too:) We didn't do much shopping downtown, but did manage to get some yummy gingerbread:) It was a wonderful couple of days!
