We left for California last Sunday. We drove to Portland and then flew to Orange County from there. The kids loved the flight and luckily Sadie slept for almost the entire time. We got into our hotel and had enough time to say "hi" to Grandma and Grandpa Childers before getting the kids to bed.

On Monday morning after getting breakfast and the kids all ready, the boys headed down to catch the shuttle with Grandma and Grandpa and I was brushing my teeth, when all of a sudden Christopher comes running in with a crying Sadie holding her finger that was bleeding all over the place. Evidently as they were heading out, she put her fingers in the door jam, and her index finger got smashed real bad. We weren't sure if there were broken bones or how serious the injury was, so we sent the kids on with Grandma and Grandpa and took a taxi to the local ER, which luckily wasn't too far away or too crowded. We got right back and the doctor was able to look at her finger. It was cut pretty bad. He got some x-rays done, which showed no broken bones and offered to either have it stitched up or just splinted and wrapped. We chose the latter, after our other ordeal with stitches and Sadie and managed to make it back to Disneyland before too long.

On Thursday we headed south by bus to LEGOLAND. We figured since the kids loved Legos, they would love LEGOLAND. Well, they did! For Christopher and I it was hard transitioning after Disneyland. It just doesn't have the magic that Disney does. It's not as family friendly (i.e., Sadie couldn't go on hardly any of the rides). We decided to split up so Christopher and Sadie wouldn't be standing around waiting for us. I warmed up to it as the day wore on. It is full of amazing Lego creations, which really is the draw. They rides are actually pretty lame, but the creations are amazing. Here are some pics of our day.

On Friday we just had a day to hang out, which was so nice after 4 days of going going going all day long! We slept in (well at least we weren't ready and out the door by 8:00 a.m.), swam in the pool and Sadie and Owen actually had great naps. Late afternoon we decided to go walk Downtown Disney and eat at the ESPN Zone and let the kids play games. They have really good food there and the kids had a blast playing games. We left as it got busy and hit the gigantic disney store at the end. All the kids got costumes for Halloween this week. I won't tell what, but they are super excited!

Saturday we got up and headed to the airport for our 10:45 a.m. flight. The kids did great helping me entertain Sadie. They taught her how to sing, "Yo, ho, yo, ho, a pirates life for me..." although her version is more like, "ho ho ho ho meeee..." It's pretty cute. We got back last night around 5:00 p.m. and had our trusted sitter to come and relieve us of our week long togetherness:) We had to go to home depot for house suff and then went and got dinner. It has truly been a great week!
