Another way overdue post, but that's life...Here was May in the life of the Childers:
- We decided to get the boys (and girl) a basketball hoop. This required digging a 4 foot hole for the pole to go into...the kids had fun climbing in.
- Owen had his Poetry Cafe at school
- Sadie lost another tooth....
- Christopher went and got our hanging baskets, which requires him to borrow a trailer, take the morning off of work and stand in line to get these wonderful additions to our home every year. I love them!
- The kids planted sunflowers and a zinnia at our school's Science Night....
- Owen passed off all the Articles of Faith
- Teacher appreciation--Sadie and Owen love their teachers and it's the least we can do to show how awesome they are!
- Jonas invited his friend Megan (in the middle) to church and she was able to go and then come to our house for a couple discussions.
- Mother's Day! I was spoiled by Christopher and the kids. I got lovely handmade cards and books and wonderful presents from Christopher. It was a lovely day and I must say, I am lucky to be my kids' mom!
Owen read "Love You Forever"--such a sweet boy.
- Went with Owen to the Whitman Mission in Walla Walla for a fun 4th Grade field trip.
- The Iris that we got from Christopher's parents and we didn't plant for over a year bloomed this year. They were lovely!
- We went up to Spokane on the 17th to see Wicked with the Walkers. All the kids were very well behaved and had a good time.
We met up with Hannah, Brandon and Lilly at Chilli's afterward to celebrate Hannah & Brandon's birthday. It was fun to see Lilly. She changes so much every time we see her.
- Basketball hoop got installed and the kids love it!--Especially lowering it to 5 ft and DUNKING on it
- We went to Helena for Memorial Day weekend. We had beautiful weather and had a wonderful long weekend with my wonderful parents! What is a trip to Helena without eating at Staggering Ox?
- We found all of Ansel's TREK clothes at a DI in Helena. We even found the perfect size worn in boots for him ($100 shoes for $13!)
- I was somewhat surprised when all the kids agreed to hike Mt. Helena with Christopher and I...It made me very happy.
- Mom treated us to lunch at Taco Del Mar---a family favorite!
- We celebrated Dad's 77th birthday on May 25th.
Another crazy Chinese candle...
- Sadie has discovered reading. She read a Magic Tree House book a day the last few weeks of May. We found the Merlin Mission books on Ebay for a great price and she's excited to continue the Magic Tree House adventure.
- I am over the Book Fair at Owen and Sadie's school and so spend the last week of May all day in the library helping the kids shop for books. It's fun...but tiring.
- We had a bike rodeo for Pack Meeting in May, which was a great success!
- Sadie's cool school report on the Trumpeter Swan---pretty good for 1st grade!
